Mr. Cottone's Website
About MeI’m a proud educator at Van Hoosen Middle School, as well as a Van Hoosen alumnus. I teach 6th gradeWorld Studies and love helping students understand more about the world’s past, present, and future. Learning about the world has always been a passion of mine, as I've taken a keen appreciation to learning about various cultures and traveling to different locations. My Netflix is constantly filled with everything from the History Channel, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channel.
Personally, I take pleasure in painting, drawing, and more recently I have a fond interest in photography. Harry Potter is my favorite book. I love watching and participating in a variety of sports and I make sure to root for all the Detroit sports teams. I am a huge music and movie buff. When I have time, I love the outdoors, camping, running, and especially mountain biking. Most importantly to me is my wife, who shares many of the same interests as me. She also shares my passion for education as she is a terrific teacher in Romeo. Perhaps the most exciting part of my life are my sons Aiden and Colin. I love spending time with my wife and him. Perhaps the most important "hobby" that I've been involved with over recent years has been traveling. I've been fortunate enough to have participated in numerous fellowships, which you can read about at www.Cottonetravel.weebly.com. These experiences have not only enriched my life, but have contributed greatly to my classroom. |
